Restless Heart to Headline Get Down Downtown Festival on Saturday, September 29, in Downtown Searcy Festival organizer Main Street Searcy, stage sponsor First Security Bank and music sponsor White River Flooring are proud to present Nashville recording band Restless Heart as the Saturday night headline act for Get Down Downtown 2018 on Saturday, September 29.

 

According to Main Street Searcy executive director Amy Burton, committee members and event volunteers are making preparations to welcome more than 25,000 visitors into the downtown area for the eleventh annual event. It has become known for featuring live music, performances, merchandise vendors and concessions. “Over the past decade, Get Down Downtown has welcomed nationally-known recording artists along with local musicians. We have such a wide range of festival attendees every year so we strive to bring a diverse mix of music genres so there truly is something for everyone during the event,” Burton said.

 

The two-day festival kicks off Friday, September 28, at 6 p.m. Activities will then resume at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 29, with music all day and vendor activities on the downtown streets. The Unity Health Kid Zone will be in Spring Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. where activities such as children’s stage performances, inflatables, carnival games, rides and face painting will be offered for kids of all ages. Saturday evening will be a continuation of downtown activities - including performances on the First Security Bank Stage from Arkansas’s own Anna Brinker and Nashville’s newest sensations Melanie Meriney and Tony-Ray Thompson leading into Restless Heart’s 8 p.m. show.

 

Restless Heart is an award-winning country band that became an acclaimed recording and touring group with four Grammy nominations and seven CMA nominations. John Dittrich, Greg Jennings, Paul Gregg, Dave Innis and Larry Stewart, the men who make up Restless Heart, have enjoyed one of the most successful careers in country music history. Placing more than 25 singles on the charts, with six consecutive #1 hits, four of their albums have been certified Gold by the RIAA. They have won a wide range of awards from many organizations - including the Academy of Country Music’s Top Vocal Group trophy.
