Sen. Boozman seeks to designate U.S. 67 as I-57; could be years before it becomes an interstate

U.S. Sen. John Boozman, R-Ark., has added a provision to the 2017 transportation budget that will designate U.S. 67, from North Little Rock to Walnut Ridge, as the future Interstate 57. The designation will help economic development along the more than 120-mile route, and could bolster the economy in Northeast Arkansas, Boozman said.

It’s no secret volunteerism is low and continually drops with each year. According to the Corporation for National and Community Service, only 24.9% of people volunteered in 2015 nationwide. The state of Arkansas was even lower that year with only 20.6% of residents who volunteered.
