Young Manufacturers Academy was held on July 10th
BEEBE, Ark. – Arkansas State University-Beebe will offer a Young Manufacturers Academy on the Searcy campus starting Monday, July 10 through Friday, July 14 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  
 
The academy introduces students entering grades seventh through ninth grades to all facets of the manufacturing industry through hands-on activities and simulation based learning. The participants will also travel to industry locations for on-site interaction with manufacturers. The academy is free of charge, with breakfast and lunch provided each day.  
 
The academy will begin with a visit from the State Chamber of Commerce sponsored Be Pro Be Proud mobile unit and will culminate with a capstone event.

The Young Manufacturers Academy is funded by a manufacturing grant from the Gene Haas Foundation. To date, more than 1200 charitable (501 C3) organizations and schools have received funds totaling over 27 million dollars from the Gene Haas Foundation.
