Searcy Leadership Institute Enriches Individuals,
Businesses, and Community
The Searcy Leadership Institute graduated 23 students on May 8th. The Searcy Leadership Institute (SLI) offered students a unique leadership course for local business men and women and community leaders who have the desire and ability to shape the future of their community. Participants explored major issues and unique challenges facing the Searcy community through face-to-face meetings with local and state leaders and on-site visits to local institutions, agencies and organizations. The Searcy Regional Chamber of Commerce offers this valuable training to the community with the goal to develop a network of talented leaders working toward solving present and future community needs. This vision is met with specific goals:
Identify
and motivate individuals with leadership potential
Acquaint
participants with community needs, challenges and opportunities
Offer
a forum of exchange on methods for dealing with community issues
Challenge
potential leaders to become involved with local issues and the process of decision
making
A community is always made better by recognizing and
addressing the needs that exist currently and those that could arise in the
future. Every business and individual in the area has a stake in their community
and will feel the pains of area needs going unmet. When a community recognizes
those needs and rallies around to provide the resources to make improvements, everyone
feels the positive outcomes through growth and change.
For businesses, being invested in the community should
be the lifeblood of their establishment. The benefits of obtaining leadership
qualities directed toward growing the community should result in professional
growth as well. For individuals and community leaders, the advantages of
personal development in leadership skills of this nature become important
assets to their employers, their community and their skill set. With a vision
for meeting the needs of the community and creating goals for its healthy
future, success is sure to follow. Searcy Leadership Institute equips
individuals with the skills to be productive community leaders.
